At WPU GŌA,

we’re reimagining
higher education
in India.

Our students learn how different fields connect and
influence each other. They build strong knowledge in
their chosen area, while also developing the ability to
see the bigger picture and work across domains.

A Curriculum Built By

One of India’s
largest academic
co-creation processes

Design for a world of

intelligent products,
digital experiences,
and human stories

Modern design no longer exists in isolation.
Products connect with systems.
Communication connects with technology.
Visual experiences connect with human psychology.

And designers increasingly work across disciplines,
industries and evolving digital environments.
This programme was designed to prepare students who can:

In-domain
specialisations

  • Service & Systems Design
  • Sustainable Design
  • Interaction Design

Cross-domain
specialisations

  • Computational Thinking & Creative Coding
  • Behavioural & Cognitive Psychology
  • Entrepreneurship in Creative Industries
  • Media Production & Digital Content Creation

Graduate with real
design capability,
not just portfolio pieces

Most design programmes focus primarily on aesthetics and execution. This programme focuses on systems thinking, interdisciplinary creativity, and real-world application.

Design meets emerging technologies

You will explore:

  • AI-assisted ideation
  • Creative coding
  • Interactive systems
  • Digital storytelling
  • Computational creativity
  • Evolving design technologies

Design meets human understanding

You will learn how:

  • People interact with systems
  • behaviour shapes user experience
  • Communication influences perception
  • Storytelling creates an emotional connection

Because impactful design begins with understanding people.

Design meets real-world context

You will work across:

  • Sustainability challenges
  • Digital ecosystems
  • Media environments
  • Product experiences
  • Communication systems
  • Interdisciplinary projects

Because modern design increasingly exists across industries, not within isolated creative silos.

Your 4-year
design
roadmap

Build capability in stages,
like a future-ready designer

Year 1

Learn to think
like a designer

Focus on:

  • visual thinking
  • observation
  • design fundamentals
  • storytelling
  • creative exploration

You begin building creative discipline and design perspective.

Year 2

Understand design
within real systems

You learn:

  • user experience
  • systems thinking
  • interaction and communication
  • design responsibility
  • sustainability and human-centred design

Year 3

Work on applied
creative challenges

You gain experience through:

  • interdisciplinary projects
  • industry exposure
  • collaborative design work
  • emerging media exploration
  • professional internships

Year 4

Build a signature
design outcome

You complete a major project such as:

  • an interaction design system
  • a visual communication campaign
  • a digital storytelling experience
  • a service or product design solution
  • a creative venture concept

AI is not treated as
a subject.

It becomes part of how
students learn, build and think.

At WPU GŌA, students engage with AI not only as users of technology, but as thinkers, creators and problem-solvers working within AI-shaped industries and systems.

Design Meets
Computational Creativity

Traditional design education often focuses on graphics, visual communication and aesthetics.

At WPU GŌA, students will also:

  • explore AI-assisted ideation
  • generate visual systems using prompts
  • experiment with interactive storytelling
  • combine creativity with computational thinking

Because future creative work will increasingly exist at the intersection of design, systems and emerging technologies.

Admission
Process

WPU GŌA is a fully residential campus that embraces a transdisciplinary learning approach to education, and its admissions process reflects this philosophy by looking beyond academic performance in standardised tests and Board examinations. Candidates are evaluated holistically using the ABC Model, which is
Agility & Empathetic Responsiveness,
Broad-Minded Learning Orientation & Self-Development
Curiosity for Complex Problems & Co-Creation for Change.

As a result, it places a larger emphasis on the overall profile rather than any single score.
